everyone wants to work in AI. Ask about data and half the room goes quiet. Saw this play out with 100+ postgrad students recently. Every hand up for AI. A handful for data. Same pattern every time. We're drawn to what feels powerful. We overlook what actually creates that

i have not finished setting up the last thing i installed before the next thing dropped.
my workflow is a construction site.
every tool i use is mid-update.
nothing is stable long enough to master.
and tomorrow there will be more.
i am begging. not as a critique. as a person.
please. one week. nothing.
let me catch up.
let me feel competent for 7 consecutive days.
that's all i'm asking.

my honest ranking after using all four daily:
research + truth:
Grok > Claude > ChatGPT > Gemini
backend dev:
Claude > Grok > ChatGPT > Gemini
frontend dev:
Gemini > Claude > ChatGPT > Grok
daily tasks:
Claude > ChatGPT > Grok > Gemini
the meta in 2026 isn't picking the best model.
it's knowing which one to open for which task.

nobody planned this. it just happened. Candidates started using AI to write CVs. Recruiters started using AI to filter CVs. Now it's just two AIs talking to each other while humans wait to find out if they got the job. The CV didn't die. It got automated on both ends
