The reason was unexpectedly strong US non-farm payrolls data for March, which continues to reduce expectations for a Fed rate cut. US crude oil rose nearly 3%, trading around $114.42 per barrel. US President Trump again threatened to destroy Iran's power plants, and there was little sign from Tehran of accepting US demands to end the war.
