I was wondering, how much money is there in the world really? While researching, I found some quite interesting figures.

The total amount of money circulating in the global economy in US dollars is approximately $37 trillion. This includes physical cash and bank deposits. But here’s where it gets interesting: if we also count investment instruments, derivatives, and crypto assets, this number exceeds $1.2 quadrillion.

If we only consider coins and banknotes in your wallet and safe, the answer to how much money is there in the world is about $6.6 trillion. But when you include bank deposits, liquid assets, and other money supply measures, the figure reaches dozens of trillions.

While thinking about these enormous numbers, one question always comes to mind: so, what’s our share of this money? Where is most of the global wealth, and who holds it? I’m curious about how new asset classes like cryptocurrencies will change this equation. It will be interesting to see how Bitcoin and other digital assets will find their place within this traditional monetary system.
