The human body has long revealed to us how to live. From the mouth to the anus, the human digestive tract is a channel that runs through the entire body. Foods that seem to enter deep into the body actually always travel within an "external conduit." What truly belongs to us is only the part that is absorbed; the rest will eventually leave. The human body is not meant to be hoarded but to flow.

Air must be exhaled after inhalation; food must be expelled after swallowing. If something only enters but does not exit, life will become blocked. Eating without releasing is constipation; loving without letting go is obsession; unspoken pain and repression are internal injuries. Anything that enters us, if it cannot flow, will spoil.

However, this era values accumulation: more material possessions, more relationships, more information, more desires. We keep ingesting but rarely clear out; we keep possessing but seldom let go. As a result, people gradually become piles of accumulation rather than a smooth-flowing river.

The truly healthy way of being should be like the body: to absorb as well as to expel; to gain as well as to let go. Delicious things can be tasted but not clung to; knowledge can be learned but not rigidly held onto; emotions can be experienced but not lingered in; love can be given but not possessed.

The wisdom of life lies not in holding tightly but in flowing freely.

People are not the owners of the world but merely channels through which all things pass. Let the good nourish, and let discomfort be a passing guest. Do not greedily seek more, do not linger, do not be attached. Like the sea accepting all rivers and transforming into clouds and rain, like the wind passing through the forest without claiming a single leaf.

Live as a conduit, not a container;
Live lightly, not in accumulation.

Let all things pass through you, and you need not hold on to anything.
