There is no real reason for the rise we've seen in gold.
It seems that the increase is due to two factors.
First: Support for stock prices and U.S. indices, and downward pressure on oil... so the movement required an intentional price move in gold (a deliberate price movement and not a genuine one)
Second: A preemptive counter-preparation for the data coming out tomorrow, Friday... which is likely to bring more positive surprises for the dollar and more negative impacts on gold prices.
