A representative of the Russian Investigative Committee stated that Popov’s arrest is related to the ‘Patriot Park’ incident in Russia. From 2021 to 2024, Popov, who was responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of ‘Patriot Park,’ is suspected of embezzlement. The defense lawyer stated that Popov strongly denies any involvement in the ‘Patriot Park’ case. Russian President Putin signed an order on June 17th to dismiss Popov from his position and simultaneously cancel his military status.
