Gate News bot news, the Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution Optimism is set to update its governance system for the second time this year, aiming to further enhance decentralization.

The Optimism team stated in a blog post last Friday that as part of the “Season 8” overhaul, these changes, which will take effect on August 1, will introduce stakeholder voting, a public definition of citizenship, and an automatic approval process for proposals.

The team stated: “Our goal has always been to create a governance model designed specifically for the new type of Internet, which means reducing platform risk by establishing accountability where the corporate governance model has failed.”

It is reported that the last season lasted from January 16 to June 11, focusing on interoperability.

The Optimism team stated that they have created four stakeholder groups: token holders, end users, applications, and chains, to ensure that everyone can vote on governance proposals.
