The United States and Japan failed to reach a trade protocol at the G7 summit.

Gate News bot reported that, according to Bloomberg, U.S. President Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba failed to reach a trade agreement during the G7 summit. Ishiba hopes Trump will cancel the 25% tariff imposed on Japanese cars and the 24% reciprocal tax on other Japanese imports. These tariffs have been suspended until July 9.

Shiba Shou said on Monday: “The two sides have not yet reached consensus on some issues, so we have not yet reached an agreement on the trade plan.”

As of the time of writing this article, the USD/JPY trading price has increased by 0.12% to 144.90.
