GOAT Network: An Innovative Solution for Bitcoin Layer 2

GOAT Network, as an emerging Bitcoin Layer 2 project, aims to expand the functionality of Bitcoin through innovative technology. The project plans to launch a testnet this month and expects to go live on the mainnet in the third quarter. GOAT Network has adopted several advanced technologies, including optimistic challenge protocols, BitVM2, and ZKM interleaved Rollup, to enhance transaction inclusivity and finality.

A notable feature of the project is the adoption of a decentralized sequencer, which aims to address the centralization issues faced by most L2 solutions today. Initially, there will be 7 sequencer nodes, each of which needs to stake BTC to secure the network. Currently, 5 confirmed founding sequencer nodes include several well-known institutions, committing to provide over 5,000 BTC in liquidity, with a target of reaching 8,000-10,000 BTC at launch.

In terms of security, the GOAT Network applies enhanced time-lock and one-time signature technology at the first layer of Bitcoin, while utilizing zkVM technology at the second layer to ensure that the system meets the native security standards of the Bitcoin base layer.

The project has also designed a sustainable revenue model. The decentralized sequencer can earn Gas fees in the form of BTC and mining rewards in the form of GOAT tokens by producing blocks, providing security, and being active around the clock. This provides various participants with the opportunity to obtain sustainable income.

The long-term goal of GOAT Network is to become a universal L2 for all L1s, with plans to integrate ecosystems such as Ethereum, TON, and Cosmos in the future. Through its internal Entangled Rollup technology, GOAT aims to address the issues of blockchain interoperability and decentralized liquidity, while avoiding the security risks associated with traditional third-party bridges.

The project team is composed of experienced professionals, including experts in technology, economics, and innovation. The Chief Innovation Officer, Dr. Eric Wang, designed a sustainable BTC yield model suitable for various participants.

To encourage early participation, GOAT Network has launched the GOAT Club points program, which includes community points, builder points, and node points. These points will qualify for future token airdrops.

With the mainnet launch, GOAT Network plans to simultaneously introduce a series of DeFi applications, including DEX, lending, perpetual contract trading platforms, etc., to build a complete ecosystem.
