Kilt is a decentralized blockchain protocol for publishing verifiable, revocable and anonymous credentials and decentralized identifiers (DIDS) for Web3. It updates established trust processes for real-world credentials, such as passports and university diplomas, and brings trust to the digital world by allowing self sovereign online identities without a centralized data warehouse. This is not limited to human identity; Developers can use Kilt to create identifiers and credentials for machines, services, and anything that requires identity. Like Kusama and Polkadot, kilt is based on the modular blockchain construction framework substrate, which was launched as a parallel chain of Kusama network in September 2021.
