U.S. February consumer long-term inflation expectations rose to the highest level in thirty years

Golden Finance reported that American consumers’ expectations for long-term inflation have risen to the highest level in 30 years. Respondents are concerned that Trump’s tariff increase will lead to a pump in prices. According to the University of Michigan’s Consumer Sentiment Survey, consumers expect prices to pump at a rate of 3.5% per year over the next five to ten years, the highest level since 1995 in the Bloomberg compilation data.
