UFC Conor mocked Khabib for scamming fans with NFTs, ZachXBT retorted: didn't you also flop with REAL?

Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor recently accused his rival Khabib Nurmagomedov of scamming fans with his NFT activities on Twitter X, but this criticism was quickly countered by on-chain detective ZachXBT, who pointed out that Conor himself had promoted the meme coin REAL back in April this year, which ultimately ended in failure.

Conor criticized Khabib for selling NFTs using his father and hometown culture.

The incident began with Conor's tweet on 11/26 at (X), which has now been deleted but was screenshot by netizens at (. He criticized Khabib for recently launching an NFT concept based on the traditional hats from his hometown of Dagestan on Telegram, named “papakhas.”

Connor stated in the post that he finds it hard to imagine Khabib using his late father's name and hometown culture to sell a bunch of NFTs to fans, even implying that such actions are “scamming fans.”

ZachXBT retorted against Connor, who has previously scammed investors.

Connor's remarks immediately drew a response from on-chain detective ZachXBT. He directly quoted Connor's tone to retort, pointing out that Connor himself launched the meme coin REAL in April this year, also using his personal fame for promotion.

ZachXBT specifically mentioned that Conor was also promoting and then deleting many posts at the time, causing fans who bought coins to incur losses. Thus, he questioned whether Conor was also “leveraging his fame and Irish culture to harvest fans' money.” This rebuttal caused Conor's position to instantly reverse, leading netizens to believe he was slapped in the face.

Connor Meme Coin REAL issuance failed, with fundraising only reaching 39% and all funds returned.

REAL adopted a closed bidding format in April, focusing on allowing holders to receive staking rewards. However, the final fundraising amount only reached 39% of the target, preventing a formal issuance.

Connor stated that all the funds raised have been returned to the participants. As for the reason for the failure of the coin issuance this time, the market was in a downturn during the cryptocurrency slump, and the entry of meme coins into a bear market in 2025 resulted in insufficient overall buying enthusiasm, which became the main background for REAL's difficulty in succeeding.
