Rainbow Wallet announces airdrop of RNBW token - This is the launch moment.

The Rainbow Ethereum wallet will officially launch the RNBW token in Q4, marking a significant advancement after nearly two years of implementing the points program. The announcement was made on Monday, along with a series of new features added such as real-time token price updates, upgraded charts, plans to integrate derivatives trading directly in the wallet through Hyperliquid, and a daily token game.

"The $RNBW token will be an important turning point," Rainbow shared on X. "We have spent the past few months upgrading the team, restructuring the application and data infrastructure, providing a faster, smoother, and more reliable experience than ever before."

Rainbow first introduced the Rainbow Points program in December 2023, rewarding Ethereum users based on on-chain activity and asset balances, while also awarding bonus points to those who transfer from competing wallets like MetaMask. This strategy is viewed as a "vampire attack" – a tactic to attract users with more appealing incentives than competitors, which often paves the way for token airdrops. However, it took nearly two years for the token to officially be launched.

Details about the tokenomics of RNBW have not yet been fully disclosed. Rainbow stated that it has allocated 4% of the total supply to buy back the Clanker protocol, while it plans to release approximately 20% of the circulating supply right at the token release event (TGE).

Notably, MetaMask – the biggest competitor of Rainbow – also has the potential to launch its own token. Last week, Ethereum co-founder and ConsenSys CEO, Joe Lubin, revealed that the MetaMask token "is on its way" and could "appear sooner than expected." However, according to the prediction platform Myriad, the likelihood of this token appearing before November is only 21%.
