The Japanese Ministry of Finance is investigating opinions on reducing the issuance of ultra-long-term government bonds.

On August 28, Jin10 reported that the Nikkei newspaper cited several market sources stating that the Japanese Ministry of Finance has sent a questionnaire to primary government bond dealers to understand their views on the potential reduction of ultra-long-term bond issuance. The Ministry of Finance may hold a meeting with primary dealers in September.
