The United States has seized 145 domain names and crypto assets related to the dark web platform BidenCash.

Gate News bot message: U.S. authorities have seized 145 domains and an undisclosed amount of Crypto Assets related to the dark web platform BidenCash. BidenCash is a dark web market accused of selling a large number of stolen credit cards and personal data.

The action was announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia on June 5, after a U.S. court authorized a crackdown on the platform’s infrastructure and financial flows. The seized domain name has now been redirected to a server controlled by law enforcement.

BidenCash was launched in March 2022, with the number of users exceeding 117,000, and it has assisted in the sale of over 15 million stolen payment card numbers and other personal identification information. U.S. officials stated that the revenue during the operation of the platform exceeded $17 million.

In addition, the dark web platform also sells stolen login credentials for unauthorized computer access. Between October 2022 and February 2023, BidenCash released 3.3 million stolen credit card records for free as a strategy to promote its services to cybercriminals and attract new users.

The U.S. has also obtained court authorization to seize Crypto Assets related to the illegal activities of BidenCash, but officials have not disclosed the amount of the recovered Crypto Assets.
