A Hong Kong man was sentenced to 78 months in prison for stealing 3.2 million USDT from a company.

According to Gate.io News bot, as reported by Hong Kong 01, a 29-year-old man from Hong Kong stole over 3.2 million USDT from his company’s account in Singapore, where he worked at a fintech company, between November 2021 and July 2022, in 64 instances. The man transferred part of the funds to the Wallets held by his girlfriend and her brother.

The police arrested two men and one woman in September 2022, recovering approximately HKD 8.6 million in virtual currency and HKD 4.65 million in cash and assets. The man has pleaded guilty and was charged with one count of theft and three counts of money laundering, and was sentenced to 78 months in prison on the 15th.
