On January 3rd, Slowmist released the "2024 Blockchain Security and Anti-Money Laundering Annual Report", which reported a total of 410 security incidents and a loss of up to $2.013 billion in 2024. Compared to 2023 (464 incidents with a loss of approximately $2.486 billion), the loss decreased by 19.02% YoY. In terms of project categories, Decentralized Finance remains the most frequently targeted area. In 2024, there were 339 security incidents in Decentralized Finance, accounting for 82.68% of the total, with a loss of up to $1.029 billion. Compared to 2023 (282 incidents with a loss of approximately $773 million), the loss increased by 33.12% YoY. In terms of ecosystems, Ethereum had the highest loss, reaching $465 million, followed by BSC, with a loss of 8,735.
