Don't blindly rush into altcoins! This practical guide can help you avoid losing hundreds of thousands.
Recently, the altcoin market has surged wildly. Many beginners rush in hoping to get rich overnight, but most end up being harvested. Today, I won't talk about mysticism—just real experience. I hope friends who enjoy trading altcoins read carefully, so you don't lose money without understanding why.
99% of altcoins will eventually go to zero. In theory, shorting has the highest win rate, but just one 100x or 1000x coin can wipe you out instantly.
Altcoin funding rates are generally high, especially those with hourly settlement and maximum leverage. In the early stages, they often rally or consolidate sideways to wipe out shorts. Few will drop while bearing high funding costs. But when funding is settled, sudden crashes often occur. Strong whales reversing the trend and aggressively pushing prices are rare.
Learn to read the long and short signals. When many altcoins are bullish simultaneously, sustained explosive growth is difficult. Usually, only during consolidation phases can they break out with continuous rallies. If too many are bullish and pushing prices up solely on FOMO, a sudden shift in sentiment or failure to switch positions can cause the market to collapse instantly—classic retail trap.
Coins capable of 10x or 100x gains typically have three core factors: concentrated chips (large holdings), moderate market cap, and sufficient contract depth. Whales hold large positions and only need small spot buying plus opening long contracts to control the market and trigger a short squeeze, harvesting profits in the derivatives market.
The market is very deep and complex. Blindly entering will only get you slaughtered. Instead of stumbling into pitfalls alone, it's better to follow the right people and the right strategies, avoid detours, and protect your principal.
This is just experience sharing and not investment advice. The crypto market is highly risky. Participate rationally and avoid blindly following the herd. $SOL $XRP
