I saw this sculpture at the entrance of the art museum

Entirely black with a rough texture
Lazily leaning against the railing
As if pondering the meaning of life
The nearby plaque reads
A work by a renowned contemporary artist
Exploring urban loneliness and alienation
I circled it three times
Trying to understand its deeper meaning
Until I realized
The sculpture's butt
Was shiny from being touched
The black coating almost worn off
Revealing the golden metal underneath
As if polished for three hundred years
A couple nearby was taking photos
The girl reached out and touched it too
The guy beside her was smiling
And suddenly I understood
This sculpture isn't about loneliness
It's about human nature
No matter how profound the art
It must give way in front of human instinct
I couldn't help but do the same
Don’t ask, just say I’m studying art
Now my hand is also an accomplice
I heard that when the sculpture was first displayed
Its butt was intact
But after three months, it looked like this
The artist probably never expected
Their work would be remembered by the world in this way
Next time, I suggest making it a bronze statue
To avoid repainting
After all,
Who can resist a touchable butt?
Especially one that’s free
