According to Tech in Asia, the number of global cryptocurrency holders in 2025 increased by 12.4% year-on-year, from 659 million to 741 million, mainly driven by increased adoption by U.S. institutions and pro-cryptocurrency policies, including the establishment of Bitcoin strategic reserves. Bitcoin holders grew by 8.3% to 365 million, accounting for nearly half of the total global holdings; Ethereum holders increased by 22.6% to 175 million, accounting for approximately 24%.
