According to the Spring Festival travel data provided by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation: since the start of the Spring Festival travel period, cross-regional personnel flow in Guangdong has exceeded 550 million trips.
On February 20, 2026 (the 19th day of the Spring Festival travel period), the total cross-regional personnel flow in the province was 33.4826 million trips, an increase of 6.23% compared to the previous day and an increase of 11.22% compared to the same period in 2025. Among them:
Railway (including provincially operated intercity railways) passenger volume was 1.4626 million, a 5.43% increase from the previous day and a 12.92% increase year-over-year.
Road personnel flow was 31.4346 million, up 6.37% from the previous day and 11.23% year-over-year. Of these, non-operational private car trips on expressways and national/provincial roads totaled 30.0918 million, an increase of 6.35% daily and 11.21% annually.
Operational road passenger volume was 1.3428 million, up 6.88% from the previous day and 11.55% year-over-year.
Waterway passenger volume was 277,900, a 1.26% increase daily and a 2.81% increase year-over-year.
Civil aviation passenger volume was 307,500, an increase of 1.02% from the previous day and 9.43% year-over-year.
Since the start of the Spring Festival travel period (February 2 to February 20, 2026, a total of 19 days), the total cross-regional personnel flow in the province has reached 551.8899 million trips, a 3.86% increase year-over-year. Among them:
Road personnel flow totaled 513.1688 million, a 3.40% increase. Of these, private car trips on expressways and national/provincial roads totaled 48.18896 million, a 3.47% increase.
Operational road passenger volume was 31.2793 million, a 2.37% increase.
Waterway passenger volume was 2.992 million, a 4.54% increase.
Civil aviation passenger volume was 5.6659 million, a 6.87% increase.
On February 20 (the 19th day of the Spring Festival travel period), the total highway traffic in the province was approximately 8.4743 million vehicles, an increase of 6.16% from the previous day and 10.69% compared to the same period in 2025.
Highway traffic in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was about 5.114 million vehicles, an 8.12% increase daily but a 16.62% decrease year-over-year.
Since the start of the Spring Festival travel period (February 2 to February 20, 2026, a total of 19 days), the cumulative highway traffic in the province has reached approximately 143 million vehicle trips, a 2.53% increase year-over-year.
Total highway traffic in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was approximately 108.5691 million vehicle trips, a 3.87% decrease year-over-year.
