This year, China continues to promote large-scale equipment upgrades, with the acceleration of equipment update projects across multiple sectors. This aims to stimulate holiday consumption and provide stronger support for social and people’s livelihoods. The equipment updates for offline commercial facilities were included in the equipment update policy for the first time this year. During this Spring Festival holiday, a number of commercial complexes in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Sichuan, and other regions, after completing equipment upgrades, have for the first time met with consumers. Outdated electronic screens in shopping malls have been replaced with new LED screens, restrooms and passenger elevators have been renovated for accessibility, and ventilation, lighting, and power distribution equipment have all been renewed. Currently, a new round of equipment updates for 2026 has been gradually launched in 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, involving about 20 fields including industry, electronic information, energy conservation, carbon reduction, and environmental protection. Various sectors will optimize application conditions and review processes, further lower the investment threshold for equipment update projects, increase support for small and medium-sized enterprises’ equipment upgrades, and expand the policy benefits.
