On February 20th, Zhengzhou Airport’s single-day passenger throughput exceeded 100,000 for the first time, setting a new high since its opening in 1997, marking a milestone breakthrough and elevating Henan’s civil aviation transportation support capacity to a new level.
Since the start of this year’s Spring Festival travel rush, Zhengzhou Airport’s flight volume and passenger flow have continued to grow rapidly. As of February 20th, Zhengzhou Airport has handled a total of 11,800 outbound and inbound passenger flights, a 3.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025; served 1.774 million passengers, a 5.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025, ranking first among large airports in the central six provinces, demonstrating strong development momentum.
Looking back at the first half of the Spring Festival travel period, Zhengzhou Airport’s operation trend remained positive. In the first two weeks, the average daily number of outbound and inbound flights was 700, with the maximum single-day flights reaching 727; the average daily passenger service was 93,600, with the highest single-day passenger flow reaching 98,500, laying a solid foundation for surpassing the 100,000 passenger mark.
To meet the concentrated travel needs during the Spring Festival, Zhongyu Airlines Group deployed in advance, analyzing and assessing the characteristics of peak period routes and flights, continuously improving hub operation efficiency and service quality. Zhengzhou Airport coordinated with airlines and on-site units to strengthen detailed control over all aspects of flight support, increased capacity deployment with airlines in Zhengzhou, adding approximately 2,000 flights during the Spring Festival period, averaging 50 additional flights per day, and opening or resuming five international routes including Zhengzhou-Bangkok, Singapore, and Hanoi, as well as increasing frequency on popular domestic routes such as Haikou, Shenzhen, and Urumqi.
In response to the peak passenger flow during the Spring Festival, Zhengzhou Airport centered on passenger needs, enhancing service efficiency and travel experience through measures such as increasing volunteer service teams, deploying convenience service vehicles, and upgrading self-service baggage check-in machines, comprehensively improving service quality.
Zhongyu Airlines Group will continue to focus on passenger needs, precisely target key links in Spring Festival support, and do its best to provide quality service, creating a safe, convenient, and warm travel environment during the Spring Festival, ensuring a smooth journey for every traveler.
