U.S. government immigration policy support hits new low, Department of Homeland Security spokesperson resigns

A recent poll shows that support among Americans for the Trump administration’s immigration policies has fallen to a new low. Against this backdrop, Department of Homeland Security spokesperson and Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Trisha McLaughlin announced her resignation on February 17. McLaughlin revealed that Lauren Beis, who works under her, will succeed her as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security, and conservative commentator Katie Zakaría will serve as the spokesperson.
