Meanwhile, construction firm** Cardinal Infrastructure** (SPXC) soared 31% Thursday to a record 32.23 close. Last quarter Cardinal reported a 90% pop in EPS on a 60% jump in revenue.

Other stock stalwarts also outperformed. Aerospace/defense giant GE Aerospace (GE) rose 1.6% to a record high. Oil transport firm Eceanis Eco Tankers (ECO) climbed 5.6%, also to a fresh high. Gold miner Alamos Gold (AGI) hit a record high on Feb. 11 and climbed 4.9% Thursday.

The screens are based on The IBD Methodology, which looks for stocks displaying the common traits typically shared by the best-performing stocks in the early stages of their big price moves.
