Gelonghui February 21 | OpenAI has informed investors that it plans to invest approximately $600 billion in computing power by 2030; just a few months ago, CEO Sam Altman also claimed a commitment of $1.4 trillion in infrastructure investment. OpenAI’s revenue in 2025 is projected to reach $13.1 billion, surpassing the previous target of $10 billion; the company spent $8 billion in cash over the year, below the $9 billion goal. The company provided a lower figure and a more specific expenditure timeline. There is widespread concern that its expansion ambitions far exceed the potential revenue scale in the future. OpenAI estimates that total revenue will exceed $280 billion by 2030, with consumer and enterprise businesses contributing roughly equally. This expenditure plan aims to more directly align with expected revenue growth. OpenAI is completing a massive funding round exceeding $100 billion, with about 90% coming from strategic investors. Nvidia is in talks for a potential investment of up to $30 billion, with the pre-money valuation for this round possibly reaching $730 billion. Besides Nvidia, strategic investors in this round also include SoftBank and Amazon.
