Microsoft will invest $50 billion in AI in the Global South by the end of this decade

Microsoft announced at the India Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit that it plans to invest $50 billion by the end of this decade to help promote artificial intelligence technology to countries in the Global South. Microsoft’s five major initiatives aimed at leveraging AI impact include: building the infrastructure needed for AI proliferation; empowering schools and non-profit organizations through technology and skills training; strengthening multilingual and multicultural AI capabilities; promoting local AI innovations that meet community needs; and assessing AI adoption to guide future AI policies and investments.
