The Taipei City government has finalized a royalty deal worth NT$12.2 billion (US$380 million) with AI chip giant Nvidia Corp. for its Taiwan headquarters in Beitou-Shilin Technology Park. The contract signing is anticipated between February 11 and 13, before the Lunar New Year holiday, with construction hoped to start before June. This agreement follows the city’s termination of a previous contract with Shin Kong Life Insurance Co., with Nvidia absorbing NT$1.2 billion of the settlement.
