Dharma Family Office disclosed its US stock market investments for the first time since the pandemic on Thursday. Media analysis suggests that this move indicates Dalio is shifting focus to family office operations after exiting Bridgewater.

According to the 13F regulatory filings, as of the end of last year, an operating entity under Dalio’s investment firm held approximately $503 million in assets in the US stock market. This scale is about one-third higher than the data disclosed earlier in early 2021.

The filings show that over three-quarters of Dalio Family Office’s latest disclosed US equity portfolio is allocated to an exchange-traded fund (ETF) tracking gold prices. Additionally, it holds smaller-scale US Treasury bond ETFs and S&P 500 ETFs.

Prior to this year, Dalio Family Office only disclosed holdings in two gold-related ETFs. The latest disclosures include nearly 12 holdings, among them ETFs investing in developed and emerging markets.

According to billionaire index compiled by media, Dalio’s current net worth is approximately $20.1 billion.

Exiting Bridgewater to Fully Focus on Family Investment Management

76-year-old Dalio is beginning a new chapter in his career. Recently, he completed a long-planned separation from Bridgewater Associates. Dalio founded Bridgewater in 1975 in a two-bedroom apartment in New York, starting as a commodities trader and building it into the world’s largest hedge fund.

Last year, Dalio sold his remaining shares in Bridgewater located in Westport, Connecticut, and stepped down from the board. Meanwhile, a sovereign wealth fund from Brunei invested in Bridgewater. Dalio first announced succession plans over a decade ago, but only fully relinquished control in 2022. That year, he transferred voting rights to the board and stepped down as one of three co-chief investment officers.

In an interview at the end of 2025, Dalio stated that he had resumed managing investments for his family office. The previous year, a former senior Wall Street executive who had held that position unexpectedly resigned. Subsequently, Dalio hired Steven Kryger to assist with investment management. Kryger worked at Bridgewater for over ten years and previously led Dalio’s research team.

Kryger now describes himself as co-Chief Investment Officer of Dalio Family Office’s global macro strategy. He recently posted a recruitment ad on LinkedIn seeking talent for Dalio’s investment firm, including a deputy role for a small global macro team working directly with Dalio. Last year, Dalio also appointed Alma DeMetropolis, a senior JPMorgan Chase executive, as Deputy CEO of the family office.

Dalio Family Office manages his private investments and charitable donations. Dalio supports ocean exploration through the nonprofit OceanX. Since its founding in 2003, Dalio Foundation has distributed over $7 billion.

Under the leadership of long-serving CEO Janine Racanelli, Dalio Family Office established a branch in Abu Dhabi in recent years, part of Dalio’s increased focus on the Middle East. The family office has also expanded its investment, tax planning, and technology staff at offices in the US and Singapore.
