Is gold still a good buy at 5000? Newbie seeking advice🪙💥
Brothers, gold has surged again and again! Today, spot gold directly broke above $5030/oz, and COMEX futures gold is also soaring. Domestic gold shops/banks are quoting around 1100+ yuan/gram📈
It has increased over 70% in the past year, reaching a high of over 5600 in January this year. In February, it retraced $700 and then V-shaped rebound. Now, at the 5000+ level, the FOMO is kicking in again😭
But the issue is: The central bank is still buying heavily, geopolitical tensions + Fed rate cut expectations haven't stopped, and the bull market logic is still in place. However, with prices already so crazy, the short-term risk of chasing high and getting slammed by a correction is very high (just experienced a sharp drop last week).
I'm torn now: should I continue dollar-cost averaging into gold ETFs/paper gold? Or wait for a correction below 4800 to buy in? Or go all in and try for a new high?
What do you guys think?
Is gold still a good buy? Is now the time to buy at high levels or the last chance to get in? Experts, please advise, newbies humbly seeking guidance🙏
Because a couple of days ago, I impulsively bought a set of commemorative coins😇
