U.S.-listed crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) recently announced the launch of several heavyweight services, officially entering the traditional finance and on-chain ecosystems, aiming to establish itself as an all-in-one trading hub for “omni-capable” users. This move marks the expansion of the boundaries of crypto exchanges, attempting to integrate crypto assets, stocks, derivatives, and on-chain applications into a single platform.

Triangular Layout: The Strategic Puzzle of Kalshi, Jupiter, and the U.S. Stock Market

Coinbase first integrated the prediction market platform Kalshi, valued at $11 billion, allowing users to make precise bets on real-world events—ranging from election results to sports events and economic data. All contract prices are determined by collective market predictions and trading activities of participants. This is a significant step for Coinbase to seize the prediction market.

To enhance on-chain trading liquidity, Coinbase deeply integrated Jupiter, a leading DEX aggregator within the Solana ecosystem. Users can trade on-chain assets on Solana directly without switching applications, forming a closed-loop ecosystem.

Most notably, there is an innovation in the U.S. stock trading model. Coinbase consumer and business executive Max Branzburg revealed that initially, hundreds of leading stocks and ETFs will be selected, expanding to thousands in the coming months. This service has three core competitive advantages:

Additionally, Coinbase plans to launch perpetual stock contracts in early 2026, allowing overseas users to invest in U.S. stocks around the clock.

In the derivatives sector, Coinbase has simplified operations, allowing users to execute larger positions with lower margin requirements and enjoy tax optimization in specific markets. The platform already offers over 30 futures and perpetual contracts covering crypto assets, commodities, and stock indices. Beyond trading functions, Coinbase launched the AI tool “Coinbase Advisor,” aiming to break the class barrier of high-end financial services. Users only need to converse with AI—for example, “Help me build an investment portfolio” or “What do the latest market news mean for me”—and the AI will provide personalized advice and execution plans based on Coinbase’s vast data and product lines.

Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2 solution, Base, has officially launched in over 140 countries worldwide, forming a global layout of an all-in-one ecosystem. Although the market is buzzing about whether Base will issue a native token, the official remains cautious, stating they are exploring potential but have no updates to share at this time.
