XRP and ETF Integration: How Ripple Challenges Traditional Financial Giants Through Bank Licenses

Ripple(XRP) market landscape is undergoing profound changes. As of the latest data, XRP is priced at $2.05, with a 24-hour change of -2.15%. This volatility precisely reflects the market’s complex expectations regarding Ripple’s strategic shift—from a pure crypto asset to a provider of financial infrastructure.

Banklizenz Strategy: Ripple Reshaping the Financial Competition Landscape

Ripple Labs is approaching several key milestones in 2025. The resolution of the SEC lawsuit opens new possibilities for the company, most notably the prospect of obtaining a Banklizenz(Banklizenz).

Teucrium Trading CEO Sal Gilbertie pointed out that once Ripple obtains the Banklizenz, the company will be positioned to become a core participant in the international payment clearing system. In this scenario, XRP could become the primary asset for treasury management and transaction settlement, directly positioning Ripple against globally systemically important banks like JPMorgan.

Gilbertie’s view touches on the core issue—the Banklizenz is not only regulatory approval but also a key to upgrading the business model. It will transform institutional liquidity from passive acceptance to active allocation, creating a sustained demand base for XRP.

XRP Spot ETF Wave Sparks Institutional Allocation Boom

The launch of XRP spot ETFs marks the official connection between retail investors and institutional capital. The initial products include offerings from leading asset managers like Franklin Templeton and Grayscale, which attracted over $13 billion in inflows on the first day of listing.

Specific data shows Franklin Templeton’s product absorbed $62.6 million on the first trading day, while Grayscale’s product recorded $67.4 million. With a total inflow of $644 million over 9 trading days, XRP ETFs have become the fastest-growing category among crypto asset funds.

These capital flows are a significant support for XRP’s price. On-chain data shows that over the past few days, 73 million XRP( worth about $164 million) has been transferred from exchange wallets to personal custody addresses, reflecting investor confidence in medium- to long-term holding. However, large holders have also been reducing their positions during the same period, causing XRP to oscillate near the $2.20 support level.

New Players and Risks in the Mining Contract Market

As the XRP ecosystem expands, derivative service platforms like LeanHash have launched new product lines. The platform recently introduced mining contracts for XRP, Solana(SOL), and Dogecoin(DOGE).

According to their promotional data, these contracts are designed with multiple risk-reward tiers:

  • Entry-level plan: $100 investment, 2-day cycle, expected return
  • Advanced contract: $120,000 investment, 51-day cycle, expected return $257,700

The platform claims users can achieve daily yields of up to €9,777 through cross-chain hash power aggregation. The emergence of such products reflects strong market demand for passive income tools, but their high return promises should also prompt investors to exercise caution.

Bitcoin and XRP Decoupling Experiment

The $90,760 Bitcoin price sets the risk appetite tone for the entire crypto market. However, XRP’s performance logic is beginning to show independent changes.

When BTC broke through key levels at $88,000 and $89,000, XRP did not increase volume simultaneously but maintained a relatively independent price trajectory supported by ETF capital inflows. This indicates XRP is establishing its own supply-demand balance system, no longer fully following Bitcoin’s cycle.

From a technical perspective, $2.50 is widely regarded as a recent resistance level. Once broken, XRP could establish a stronger upward trend; if it continues to decline and breaks below $2.00, a reassessment of bullish momentum is necessary.

Dual Significance of Regulatory Breakthrough and Banklizenz

Ripple obtaining the Banklizenz is not merely a regulatory event but a pivotal point in its business ecosystem. It signifies:

First layer—regulatory recognition: Approval from financial regulators will reclassify XRP from a “high-risk asset” to a “regulated asset,” changing the risk profile for institutional investment committees.

Second layer—liquidity revolution: The Banklizenz will enable Ripple to participate directly in cross-border payment clearing without relying on third-party channels. The real demand for XRP as a settlement medium will shift from virtual to tangible.

Third layer—competition reshaping: Once the Banklizenz is secured, Ripple will officially enter the competitive sphere of systemic important banks like JPMorgan and HSBC. This will not only alter XRP’s valuation framework but also reshape the geopolitical landscape of crypto finance.

Key Points Investors Should Watch

The current XRP market is at the intersection of three driving forces: continuous ETF capital inflows, progress in Banklizenz approval, and restructuring of on-chain holdings. However, this does not necessarily mean prices will rise. Whale-level sell-offs, short-term profit-taking, and macro liquidity changes could pose resistance.

Key indicators include: the relative strength of the XRP/BTC trading pair, changes in holdings across major exchanges, and Ripple’s latest statements on the progress of the Banklizenz. Institutional investors should consider the acquisition of the Banklizenz as a core variable for mid-term investment decisions rather than short-term price fluctuations.
