One real advantage of Bitcoin is here — global transfers can be completed in just a few minutes. Now, what about traditional banks? It takes 3 to 5 business days, and you have to pray that there are no delays along the way. The same amount of money is measured in minutes on one side and days on the other, and the difference speaks for itself. This is also why more and more people are starting to rethink the issue of cross-border payments.

Minutes vs days, this calculation is simply impossible, traditional banks should have been replaced long ago.

Minutes vs days, this comparison is a bit harsh. Banks really should reflect on this. The traditional banking approach should have been eliminated long ago. Cross-border remittances are simply a nightmare. A few minutes to arrive vs waiting a week, I've already made my choice. Honestly, the crypto world really can't compete in this aspect; speed completely outperforms traditional finance. But in reality, not many people use it; most are just trading coins. That moment of getting stuck in the middle hit me hard. Anyone who has experienced this knows how uncomfortable it is. Just because of this speed advantage, the value of BTC is worth trusting.

arguably the speed differential here presents some non-trivial externalities we haven't fully grappled with from a governance perspective... like, settlement finality and all that. but yeah, traditional rails do seem rather sub-optimal given current incentive structures

A few minutes vs five days, traditional banks are really fast, still moving at a snail's pace.

Minute-level transfers are truly amazing. I’m now too lazy to use banks. --- The traditional banking process has long needed a revolution. Bitcoin really hits the pain point. --- Wait, really? Can it be that fast? I need to try it myself. --- Cross-border transfers are indeed BTC’s killer feature. --- A friend tried it the day before yesterday, and it really arrived in a few minutes. Banks have to wait a week haha. --- If banks keep going like this, they’re really doomed. --- However, gas fees can be quite annoying sometimes, but they are still cheaper than bank fees. --- No wonder more and more people are playing with crypto now. With this speed, banks can’t compare. --- Minutes vs. days, it’s obvious at a glance.
