Dollar hegemony is loosening. The most direct signal is right in front of us: gold has broken through the $4,500 mark, with a gain of over 70% last year, while silver has soared to a high of $79, with its highest increase since the beginning of the year approaching 170%. The logic behind this is not complicated—central banks around the world are stockpiling gold at an unprecedented rate, with the dollar reserve ratio slipping to around 57%, sparking a global wave of "de-dollarization."

This is not just a simple change in asset allocation but a deep restructuring of the monetary order. Consensus among analysis institutions is that a multipolar era is being priced in by the market in advance. Goldman Sachs' research team has set a target price for gold at $4,900. If the Federal Reserve begins a rate cut cycle in 2026 and geopolitical conflicts intensify further, precious metals could see additional gains, with silver potentially rising another 35% or so.

Interestingly, Bitcoin has lagged somewhat in this rally. From its all-time high of $126,000, it has fallen back to around $90,000, with funds clearly shifting toward precious metals. This exposes a long-standing unresolved issue: is Bitcoin digital gold or a risk asset? The differing identities determine its performance in macro volatility.

However, some voices point out that as long as signs of improved macro liquidity emerge, Bitcoin still has room to restart its rally. The key is to watch how the four major variables unfold over the next few years: whether the Federal Reserve will continue easing policies, the direction of the dollar index, whether geopolitical risks will escalate or ease, and the capital preferences in the crypto market. The outcome of these variables in 2026 is already being revealed through market actions, and the prices are speaking the answer.

Has Bitcoin truly become a risk asset? Something feels off. Silver's surge is outrageous, but gold remains a bit more stable. Decoupling from the US dollar has been talked about for so many years, and now there's finally some movement. Wait, if liquidity improves, can Bitcoin turn around? Then I should just hold on. Gold at $4900? Goldman Sachs is just making up stories again. Have these guys ever been reliable? With so many macro variables, who can really predict 2026? It's better to just watch and see. The fact that funds are flowing into precious metals really says something. Bitcoin falling behind this time does look pretty painful, but maybe that's a sign of a bottom. Is the era of multipolarity being priced in? That's a bit of an exaggeration; the market isn't that smart. If liquidity truly improves, crypto activity could pick up any day now.

Silver's rally is outrageous, but why is BTC still dragging its feet? --- De-dollarization is real, but Bitcoin is a bit disappointing in this wave. --- Gold at 4900? Just listen, the key still depends on when liquidity will come. --- Feels like funds are moving to safe assets, BTC's risk asset nature is still too strong. --- 2026 is the real key; it's too early to say anything now. --- So is BTC gold or a risk asset? This hasn't been clarified yet. --- The Federal Reserve cutting interest rates is the real trump card; everything else is just a supporting act. --- Precious metals have always been the favorite of central banks, so this move isn't surprising. --- Multilateral pricing sounds impressive, but why hasn't BTC kept up? --- Liquidity needs to improve; otherwise, BTC will have to keep lying flat.

Gold and silver take off, while Bitcoin falls behind. This logic is a bit hard to hold up. Wait, is de-dollarization really happening? Are central banks stockpiling gold? Can BTC turn around? It seems like we need to see what the Federal Reserve does. Falling from 126,000 to 90,000, it must be really painful for those who cut losses. Instead of guessing, it's better to look at liquidity; that's the real key. Silver has risen 170%? Why didn't I jump on this train? Digital gold vs. risk assets, Bitcoin's identity is too awkward. In 2026, four major variables will collide. Should I enter now or keep observing? Precious metals are booming, but I still believe in the long-term logic of crypto.
