Recently, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission disclosed a typical crypto scam case. The scammers, under the guise of "AI trading signals," lured people into trading groups on WhatsApp, WeChat, and other social platforms, ultimately stealing $14 million. This case is worth every trader's careful review.

The scam's tactics are actually quite old-fashioned, but they are becoming more sophisticated in presentation. They first claim to have a certain advanced AI system capable of predicting market trends, then invite you to join a "private investment club," where so-called "traders" send daily buy/sell signals in the group. To "prove their ability," they will ask you to pay an entry fee, with some even charging thousands of dollars for membership. Once you pay and get involved, the promised profits never materialize. Instead, the scam continues with various tricks and excuses to get you to deposit more money.

There are several warning signs that are hard to ignore: First, any legitimate trading tool will not guarantee absolute returns because the market is inherently risky. Second, if information can only be obtained through private groups, it usually means the information itself is worthless—valuable information doesn't need to be hidden. Third, high "entry fees" or "membership fees" clearly indicate that their profit source isn't from trading itself, but from taking money out of your pocket.

The defensive approach is quite straightforward: only trade on regulated, licensed exchanges, and be wary of any "exclusive insider"

It's the same scam again. My classmate almost fell into the trap last year, but luckily he woke up in time. 14 million, truly unbelievable.

14 million lost, this is just paying tuition haha --- Same old trick, new packaging, yet some people still jump in --- Private group + guaranteed returns = definitely a scam, why do people still believe it --- Watching those "traders" calling signals just makes me want to laugh, if it was truly profitable, who would bother to scam you --- Entry fee of a few thousand dollars? This is just a price list for harvesting leeks --- Basically, the more exaggerated and unbelievable the investment opportunity, the more you should stay away --- Trading on a legitimate exchange, everything else is just vanity, you must treat your money this way --- I just want to know how some people still believe AI can predict the market 100% --- Spending 14 million and still promoting it, these scammers are really heartless

It's the same old trick with a new disguise... Those private groups are like withered flowers; they look dazzling but are actually drained of nutrients. --- The systems that can truly make money won't bother pulling you into groups; the data speaks for itself. --- $14 million, how many people's blood, sweat, and tears accounts... The moment you pay the entry fee, you should ask yourself, if it's really profitable, why is there still a need for this membership fee? --- I've seen too many "traders," which are actually copywriters, the ones shouting signals daily but never taking responsibility. --- Absolute promised returns? That's not AI; it's a scam software with a skin upgrade. --- Private information = bad information; this formula has never changed on the blockchain. --- The simplest defense: whenever you see the word "exclusive," leave the group. There really aren't that many exclusive matters.
