From a daily usage perspective, the U Card itself doesn't have any "unusable" issues. It still operates on the traditional Visa/Mastercard clearing network, and merchants see it as a normal foreign card. Small transactions, online shopping, and everyday scenarios are all smooth, with no fundamental difference from regular foreign cards. So don't attribute problems to the "crypto circle"; at the system level, it doesn't recognize you as holding crypto assets.

The real discomfort doesn't lie in whether you can swipe it, but in the costs after swiping. When a single transaction exceeds 200, the fee structure becomes significantly more prominent. Card issuer fees, channel service charges, and possibly exchange rate losses stack together, making the experience very noticeable. It's not just "a bit more expensive," but enough to make you start calculating seriously.

This is also why many veteran users follow a consistent strategy: small, high-frequency transactions are fine; large amounts are definitely avoided. For dining, taxis, and purchases in the two- or three-digit range, U Card is very suitable; once it involves single transactions of three to five hundred or over a thousand, using it becomes clearly uneconomical, both psychologically and on the books.

So, to put it simply, the U Card isn't a risk issue but a cost issue. It's not that you can't use it, but to what extent and in what scenarios you use it, you need to be aware of. Using it as a "daily consumption tool" is fine; using it as a "large payment tool" will teach you about fees.
