Is it possible to make money just by hanging around in the crypto world? Think too much.

A friend of mine has been working in this market for four years, experiencing a full cycle of bull and bear markets. The result? Not only did their account not grow, but it kept shrinking. They study candlesticks every day and monitor the market overnight, putting in a lot of effort. The problem is that they started off on the wrong foot from the beginning.

There are quite a few veteran players like this, and they share a common ailment:

They get anxious after making a little profit and want to cash out; when the market starts moving, they can't resist chasing the rally; the more it rises, the more they want to add, but when it’s time to take profits, they can't hold their positions. Emotions take over, and they abandon their original plan; during a bear market correction, they panic, cut losses, and exit, only to see a rebound and rush to recover.

After going through this cycle repeatedly, the market doesn't fluctuate much, but their money gradually evaporates through these actions.

There are actually still opportunities in this market. As long as you can steadily catch a decent trend, your results won't be bad. The key is two words—stay calm. Keep a steady mindset, maintain your positions, but these are the two most challenging aspects of human nature.

The real reason many people can't pay their tuition fees is that they only focus on daily price changes, ignoring market cycles; they trade purely on intuition without a clear plan; their positions fluctuate with emotions. When prices surge, they get excited and add to their positions; when prices fall, they panic and cut losses. The final result is always rushing in during a rise and selling during a fall, repeatedly paying tuition fees.

Try a different approach:

Trade only with spare money, so you can stay calm and sleep well; buy and sell in batches, don’t expect to catch the entire move; making a little less and avoiding mistakes is always more important than trying to seize every opportunity.

This market never rewards the hardest workers; it rewards those who can stay calm and patient. Most of the time, wait peacefully, and only act decisively when necessary. Endure market fluctuations, keep a steady mindset, and avoid overtrading. Time will naturally favor you.

Those who can survive and make money here are always those who dare to wait patiently. Are you ready?

To be honest, I went through the same four years like that, cutting losses until I doubted my life.

That's right, my buddy is the same way. Two years ago, he was watching the market every day, and now his account has directly shrunk by half. I think the most heartbreaking part is actually that line "Buy in when it rises, sell when it falls," isn't that a true reflection of most people, including myself, who sometimes can't control themselves. Still, I have to admit, mindset is really more valuable than skills.

To be honest, I've seen quite a few cases of four-year shrinkage, but I just can't control my hands. Chasing highs and selling lows is a disease that really can't be cured; the biggest enemy is your mindset. The phrase "trading with idle funds" hits hard—how many people are just gambling with their living expenses. Holding steady is a thousand times harder than pursuing perfect returns; my blood and tears are the lessons learned. Waiting truly is the most luxurious skill; most people simply can't sit still. Once your mindset collapses, everything collapses—no exceptions.

To be honest, a few four-year veteran players I know are the same way; their accounts actually shrank after trading back and forth. Chasing gains and selling at a loss every day can only be called foolhardy. The key is to stay calm, which is not easy. Honestly, compared to frequent trading, lying flat and waiting is really more profitable. That's why most people lose money, because they simply can't sit still. Mindset is easy to talk about, but in practice, it can really drive you crazy.
