The misuse of artificial intelligence technology is increasing rapidly. A citizen from Samsun fell victim to a fraud operation involving a deepfake (deepfake) video and lost 1.5 million TL.
The attackers first gained trust by showing a fake video before proceeding.
"They called me again yesterday," says the victim. "They said your money will be transferred through the European Central Bank, but I need to deposit an additional 50,000 TL to complete the transaction."
And unfortunately, they did.
The lesson to be learned from this incident: When it comes to crypto and financial investments, AI-generated content can appear completely convincing. Promises of transfers from supposedly central banks and layered payment requests are classic scam scenarios. If you are told that money will be refunded through foreign banks, be suspicious immediately.

Deepfake tricks are really getting more and more sophisticated... 1.5 million is gone just like that, it hurts just thinking about it. The problem is you can't tell which one is real and which one is fake, and you have to spend another 500,000 to "unlock"? It's a classic scam. There are really many scammers in the crypto circle, we need to be more cautious.

I've already said that this wave of deepfake scams is aimed at retail investors. Don't miss out, everyone... But to be honest, relying solely on "people skills" can't prevent it at all. The technology is already so advanced that the key is to seize legitimate channels. The real advantage lies in deploying on reliable platforms. While others are still debating what's real or fake, we should have already figured it out.

1.5 million TL just disappeared? Deepfake technology is getting more and more powerful, I’m starting to doubt whether video calls can still be trusted...
The layered fee scheme is so old-fashioned, one time isn’t enough, they come back for more, truly clever.
Claiming to be a transfer from the European Central Bank? Laughing out loud, that’s just too ridiculous.
Bro, you got scammed pretty badly this time, but it also reminds us to be more cautious.
Even if AI-generated content looks incredibly realistic, the fact that they keep asking you for money should raise suspicion...
Crypto is such a deep water area, no wonder so many people fall for it.

Deepfake with layered payment requests—I've seen this combo too many times in dark pool trading. Poor guys get eaten up bite by bite, and they don't even realize it.

Deepfake technology is really getting more and more outrageous. 1.5 million just gone, this guy must be heartbroken.
