Ethereum's history began in 2013 when Vitalik Buterin, a Canadian programmer, released a whitepaper entitled "Ethereum: A Next-Generation Smart Contract and Decentralized Application Platform". Then the whitepaper introduces the concept of Ethereum as a blockchain platform that allows the development of decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts that can be executed automatically without the need for a third party.
