Paul Atkins, the chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, stated at the crypto roundtable that the SEC is formulating an "innovation exemption" policy for DeFi platforms. Atkins mentioned that he has asked staff to study amending rules to provide regulatory exemptions for on-chain financial systems, allowing entities under the jurisdiction of the SEC to rapidly launch on-chain products.
