According to reports from E24, Morten Søberg, the former State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, a member of the Norwegian Central Bank Supervisory Council, and the head of public affairs at SpareBank 1, will assume the position of Secretary-General of the newly established Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) in August 2025. The organization aims to oppose the Bitcoin ban, promote legislative openness, and enhance public awareness of Bitcoin and the monetary system. Currently, BPI has received approximately 1.517 BTC (about 1.6 million Norwegian Krone) in donations and has 121 paying members.
