Ethereum researcher Justin Drake: A 51% attack on Ethereum is more difficult than an attack on Bitcoin.

Ethereum researcher Justin Drake stated in an interview that a 51% attack on Bitcoin is much cheaper than attacking Ethereum, estimating that an attack on Bitcoin would require about $10 billion, while Ethereum, due to its PoS mechanism, requires control of over 50% of staked ETH (currently valued at about $44.8 billion), and price fluctuations may further increase costs. Drake emphasized that Ethereum’s community social coordination mechanism can identify and “socially punish” attackers, which is an advantage of PoS compared to PoW. (Cointelegraph)
