On September 20, a U.S. judge dismissed President Trump's $15 billion lawsuit against The New York Times, allowing him to amend his complaint. The judge ruled that Trump's complaint violated federal rules and needed to provide a concise statement to prove that the plaintiff deserves compensation. The judge stated, "The complaint is neither a public forum for insults nor a protected platform for attacking opponents." (Jin10) Previously reported, on September 16, President Trump had filed a $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times. Trump claimed that The New York Times' reporting damaged his reputation, business, Truth Social, and his TRU encryption project.
