Conflux Founder Long Fan: Mainland and Hong Kong make a strong push together to reshape the Web3 competitive landscape
At a recent Web3 development conference, Conflux founder Long Fan had an in-depth dialogue with industry insiders, sharing insights on the development of the blockchain industry. As a professor in the Computer Science department at the University of Toronto, Long Fan has not only achieved remarkable academic success but has also made a name for himself in the blockchain field with the Conflux project.
On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of Conflux, the public chain 3.0 version is about to be launched, and it has also participated in the offshore RMB stablecoin pilot project. These news have sparked a strong reaction in the market, and the price of Conflux's native token CFX has risen significantly in a short period.
Long Fan emphasized that as the currently unique public chain in China, Conflux is actively leveraging the current market trends to attract more ecological projects and assets. He stated: "We will focus on cooperation opportunities in China, Hong Kong, and even the entire Asian market."
In terms of cooperation strategy, Conflux demonstrates a high degree of openness, particularly focusing on the two major areas of stablecoins and real-world assets (RWA). Long Fan revealed that they maintain communication with many teams applying for stablecoin licenses and are connecting with project parties willing to land RWA.
Conflux positions itself as an infrastructure provider, offering not only underlying technical support but also assistance to partners in compliance and business aspects. Long Fan emphasized: "We most hope to work hand in hand with teams that truly want to get things done." This pragmatic cooperation philosophy has already shown results, such as the RWA project and stablecoin project in collaboration with a certain tech company.
Long Fan vividly described Conflux's development model with a metaphor: "If the Conflux public chain is a highway, then the technical part is developed in Shanghai, while Hong Kong is responsible for nurturing application projects." This model of "Shanghai building roads and Hong Kong making cars" fully utilizes the advantages of both places.
The core technology of Conflux originates from academic research at Tsinghua University and has since been further developed in Shanghai. On the ecological application front, Hong Kong, with its status as an international financial center and policy advantages, has become an important pivot. Currently, more than half of the ecological projects deployed on Conflux come from Hong Kong.
Long Fan believes that this "technology deep cultivation + capital empowerment" dual-city synergy model is not only applicable to Conflux, but can also be referenced by the entire Web3 industry. He stated: "Through this model, Hong Kong is expected to become an important pole in the Web3 world, providing a platform for Chinese Web3 entrepreneurs to strive together."
From Tsinghua's academic programs to becoming an important player in the industry, Conflux's development reflects the evolution of China's blockchain industry from technological exploration to commercial implementation. In this new stage of development, how to transform compliance advantages into ecological advantages, how to collaboratively build global competitiveness through the mainland and Hong Kong, and how to maintain technological leadership in pragmatic development are all key issues facing Chinese Web3 enterprises.
The development approach of Conflux provides us with inspiration: taking compliance as the cornerstone, promoting development through openness, seeking win-win through collaboration, and planning for the future with a global perspective. This may very well be the key for Chinese Web3 enterprises to break through in the new era.
