Solana DePIN ecosystem achieves record high revenue in April: Analysis of mainstream project performance
Solana DePIN ecosystem's April revenue hits a new high, main project performance review
The DePIN track in the Solana ecosystem achieved its best results of the year in April, with total monthly revenue reaching $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%. This growth is primarily attributable to the stable development of several key projects such as Helium and Render.
However, the overall number of active contributors has slightly decreased. The major DePIN projects collectively maintain around 87,000 active contributors. It is worth noting that the number of contributors for small DePIN protocols has seen significant growth, with some projects experiencing growth rates exceeding 100%, while larger protocols such as Helium and Hivemapper have maintained stable or slightly decreased contributor numbers.
The following is a review of the performance of major DePIN projects in April:
Dabba Network
As a DePIN project targeting the Indian market, Dabba Network collaborates with local cable operators to deploy Wi-Fi hotspots that provide high-speed, low-cost internet services. Between March and April, its cumulative data consumption doubled to 8000 TB, and device sales grew by 29%, further expanding the network scale.
Helium Mobile
As a virtual mobile network operator, Helium Mobile combines community Wi-Fi hotspots and partner operator base stations to provide users with low-cost mobile services. After launching the open free plan, the number of new subscription users surged by 125% to 36,000, setting a historical high. Monthly revenue reached $250,000, a year-on-year increase of 34%, with data offloading accounting for as much as 79%. The average daily offloading subscription volume and data volume grew by 65% and 32%, respectively, both hitting new records.
It is worth noting that the number of active contributors to Helium has shown a slight downward trend since the beginning of the year, currently stabilizing around 75,000.
XNET
As a decentralized mobile network, XNET continued to maintain its growth momentum in April. The average daily uninstallation rate increased by another 16%, marking a steady rise for eight consecutive months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors still grew by 6% to 732, setting a new historical high.
Roam
In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of nodes close to 4 million and the number of users to nearly 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the total number of check-ins exceeded 300 million, indicating that user engagement remains strong.
Shaga
The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently covering 74 GPU models. In two months, it has achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts, totaling 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to participate in the host's games in real time.
Hivello
As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello's online duration in April doubled compared to March, attracting more nodes to join the network.
Nosana
The decentralized GPU computing network Nosana, focused on AI inference, saw a slight increase in job completion and contributor rewards in April, with GPU nodes remaining stable. The newly launched Gaianet AI collaboration project is expected to drive future growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar supports high-performance computing by utilizing the idle computing power of devices such as smartphones. In April, the dollar rewards increased to $11,800, a 27% month-on-month rise, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass utilizes the idle bandwidth of user devices to provide data sources for AI training and more. Data collection in April reached a new high, totaling 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
The Solana-based aviation data collection network Wingbits has tracked a total of 150,000 flights since November last year, with daily data points collected increasing to 9 billion, representing a rise of 7% and 29%, respectively. The number of contribution sites has increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.
Hivemapper
The decentralized map network Hivemapper maintained stable mapping mileage in April. Its AI-driven fleet management platform Beekeeper has officially launched, expected to bring new growth momentum. The number of active map contributors has stabilized at around 5,000 since February.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network collects street view and geographical data through smartphones. In April, user-driven mileage maintained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
The decentralized virtual power plant Sourceful Energy saw a 30% increase in electricity output in April. The newly launched Zap smart energy efficiency analysis device received 500 pre-orders, and the growth momentum is expected to continue.
AmbiosNetwork
The world's largest environmental monitoring DePIN Ambios Network recorded a cumulative user ecological data check-in of over 2 million times in April, with a month-on-month increase of 12%. The total number of platform users has increased to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
