FBI: In 2024, the United States suffered $9.3 billion in encryption fraud losses, with the over 60 age group being the most affected.

The FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) reports that in 2024, Americans aged 60 and above lost approximately $2.84 billion in Crypto Assets scams, the highest among all age groups, followed by those aged 40 to 49, who lost $1.46 billion. A total of 149,686 complaints related to Crypto Assets were received throughout the year, with total losses reaching $9.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 66%, which includes $5.8 billion in investment scams and $247 million in Crypto Assets ATM fraud.
