PANews reported on April 18 that according to Bitcoin.com reports, U.S. President Trump posted on Truth Social on Wednesday that New York Senator and Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer blocked Jay Clayton's nomination, resulting in Clayton currently in temporary office, so the former chairman of the SEC will have to wait longer before he can officially become a federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York (SDNY). The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY), a federal trial court, regularly hears major corporate criminal cases, making the federal attorney position a high-profile one. In an interview with CNBC in 2021, Clayton said: "I'm very bullish on this technology. Some crypto experts have praised him for being more open-minded than his successor, Gary Gensler. However, Clayton lacks prosecutorial experience, and Schumer claims that Trump's sole reason for nominating the former regulator for this important position is to advance the president's sinister plot to eventually pursue and prosecute his political opponents. Mr. Trump hit back on Truth Social, praising Mr. Clayton's credentials and experience and accusing Mr. Schumer of partisanship.
