The report from Jinse Finance stated that Tezos, a proof-of-stake blockchain, announced on social media platform that it has launched tzBTC 2.0. It is reported that tzBTC 2.0 is an improved iteration of tzBTC, with a key innovation being the use of the Acurast execution environment to achieve automated minting and burning. The Tezos Foundation will subsidize a fixed annual fee, allowing Gatekeepers to mint and burn for free, addressing the limitation of the original version of tzBTC, which only allowed a few large organizations to mint and burn.

According to official sources, Tezos announced the upcoming launch of tzBTC 2.0, which will allow the minting and burning of tzBTC to be fully automated through self-service, with no fees charged except for gas fees. Tezos will perform multi-chain tzBTC minting and burning for selected blockchains in June 2024.
