According to a report by Cailian News Agency on November 16, at the Microsoft Ignite global technology conference held on Wednesday local time, Microsoft released a series of content such as new Microsoft 365 Copilot features, Security Copilot demo, Azure latest feature display, and launched the first artificial intelligence chip Maia 100, which will power its Azure cloud data center and lay the foundation for its various artificial intelligence services. The Maia 100 chip is designed to run large language models, helping AI systems process large amounts of data faster to accomplish tasks such as recognizing speech and images, and potentially avoid high cost dependence on NVIDIA. But Microsoft doesn't plan to sell the chips for the time being, instead using them to power its own products and as part of its Azure cloud computing service. In addition, Microsoft has also announced a second chip, the Cobalt 100 CPU, a 128-core cloud-native chip based on the ARM architecture, which could compete with Intel processors for general-purpose computing tasks.
