Due to the poor quality of AI-generated images, Microsoft's Xbox tweet sparked dissatisfaction among players

In a recent social media storm, Xbox was accused of using images generated by artificial intelligence programs to promote indie games. This accusation has sparked a debate about the use of AI art, especially when it comes to images, where AI imperfections are easy to detect. Xbox account ID@Xbox tweeted on December 27 to ask fans what they think of their favorite indie games of 2023, and the tweet used an image showing kids using sleds in the snow with the words "ID XBOX." Although the image may seem normal at first glance, it's easy to spot some of the weird details, such as a bearded child, oddly shaped objects, and even a figure with lips fused with teeth. As some players saw these details as a sign of Microsoft's use of AI art, the controversy escalated, and eventually Xbox deleted the original tweet.

Amazon introduced Explore with Alexa, which allows children to have interactive conversations with AI-powered devices

Amazon's Echo device will now allow children to have interactive conversations with AI-powered Alexa through a new feature called Explore with Alexa. Amazon Kids+ content subscriptions, first announced in September, allow children to have child-friendly conversations with Alexa that are powered by generative AI but in a protected manner designed to ensure the experience remains safe and appropriate. Unlike traditional conversations with Alexa, the AI experience is a two-way street. That is, it's not just kids who ask Alexa questions and get answers. Arjun Venkataswamy, senior product manager at Alexa Kids, said kids don't have instant access to generative AI when talking to Alexa, the content is pre-vetted and comes from a small dataset that contains only animal facts and sources. Amazon is also preparing to launch an AI-based "Let's Chat" adult Alexa experience later this year, which is based on the same LLM stack.

According to reports from the financial industry on October 4, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon believes that the benefits of artificial intelligence will far outweigh the disadvantages. In a recent interview, Dimon acknowledged that AI will displace some jobs, but said that pales in comparison to the benefits it will bring to the world. "Technology is always going to replace jobs," Dimon said. "Your kids will live to be 100 years old and not get cancer because of technology. In fact, they may only have to work three and a half days a week." Dimon said artificial intelligence The biggest disadvantage of intelligence is that it can be exploited by bad people who want to do bad things. However, the benefits are limitless.
